Bharat Future City to Drive Growth for the Next 30 Years, Generate 30 Lakh Jobs
Hyderabad | Telangana Development
The Telangana government’s ambitious Bharat Future City project is set to become a long-term growth engine for the state, with officials stating that the mega development will fuel economic expansion for the next 30 years and create employment opportunities for nearly 30 lakh people.
Planned as a world-class urban and industrial hub, Bharat Future City is being developed with a strong focus on sustainability, advanced infrastructure, and sector-specific clusters. As part of the project, the state is also fast-tracking the Pharma City initiative, which is expected to significantly strengthen Telangana’s position as a global pharmaceutical and life sciences hub.
According to officials, within the next 30 years, Bharat Future City will host around 11 major industrial and technology zones, covering sectors such as pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, clean energy, electronics, research & development, and advanced manufacturing. These zones will be supported by robust road, rail, and logistics infrastructure.

The government estimates that investments of nearly ₹500 lakh crore (₹500 trillion) could flow into the region over the long term, generating direct and indirect employment for over 70 lakh people, with 30 lakh core jobs coming directly from industries within the Future City ecosystem.
In addition to industrial development, Bharat Future City is being designed as a next-generation urban centre, with integrated residential zones, green spaces, commercial districts, healthcare facilities, and educational institutions. Special emphasis is being placed on eco-friendly planning, efficient water management, renewable energy usage, and smart city technologies.
Officials also highlighted that the project will play a key role in decentralising Hyderabad’s growth, easing pressure on the city while opening up new opportunities linked to ORR, Regional Ring Road (RRR), and upcoming expressways.
With its long-term vision, massive employment potential, and focus on innovation-led growth, Bharat Future City is expected to redefine Telangana’s economic landscape and emerge as one of India’s most important urban-industrial corridors in the coming decades.
